Martial Arts Heavy Bags – Bob Body Opponent

by Peter Samuels

Having mostly used hanging heavy bags in my Martial Arts studies, I never really liked free standing Heavy Bags. Once I used Bob, I really had to admit that this was a great solution to the common problem of how you hang a traditional heavy bag.

We really liked:

The rubber skin feels like your actually making contact with a real person instead of the traditional feeling you get when striking a hanging heavy bag. Generally we outfit Bob with sparring gear (headgear, chest protection) as we are focused on Taekwondo therefore simulating an opponent in a match. The rubber skin feels like your actually making contact with a real person instead of the traditional feeling you get when striking a hanging heavy bag. The kids have no complaints striking Bob for extended periods of time, when striking Bob mainly with kicks and fist strikes. You don\’t require sparring pads or hand protection when using Bob, its material doesn\’t hurt your hands or feet with repetitive striking. its great for them to use a life like target so that they can really get the right height and feel for real world scenarios.

Being a \”human\”, bob really causes you focus on where you are targeting, increasing your accuracy and striking targets. For high sections, Bobs head isn\’t hard or damaging to your feet rather it has flexibility which mimics a true strike as Bob\’s neck bends with the force of the kick.

It was a very good decision to get Bob, I can see the kids improving daily, enjoying the opportunity to give Bob a beat down when they are training. If you are considering adding a new Martial Arts Heavy Bag to your Mixed Martial Arts or Martial Arts program, I recommend Bob.

Made with high strength Plastisol and packed with urethane foam, Bob can with stand relentless pounding. Bob\’s height is adjustable in 6′ increments from 60 to 78\”. You have the option of filling the base with sand or water and when filled it will weigh approximately 270lbs.

A 5/5 investment in a great Martial Arts Heavy Bag!
